Too Many Cooks

My sweet kids suggested that we have upside down night for dinner. That is when we have breakfast at the end of the day. Waffles, eggs, toast, and sausage. I said that would be fine and they were more than welcome to help. They all put on the aprons from the drawer, then I took their pictures and then they escaped outside. What? Hey, thanks for the help.

Sabrina, Curtis, Eli (from next door) and Howard

These were in my collection of pictures. Summer and hubby Jon from a few months back. Of course they were making Jon's favorite, chocolate chip cookies........

Missed the Rodeo

We missed the rodeo today but we made it to the parade. The parade use to be a bit more exciting. Either it takes more to entertain me or they have gotten a little slower. Mr. Pickle was there though. Whohoo...

The girls enjoyed themselves. Christian was home sleeping in and Curtis spent the night at his friends.

Howard's drink of choice, a diet Pepsi. Where is your sweatshirt Howard? It was really cold out there.

It is obvious when the parade is at its end. The street sweepers always wrap it up. My favorite is the old fashioned cars. They make me think of my father. Better call him tomorrow.

Cowboy is this puppies name. I took one look at him and I was in love. What a cute little guy. I'm sure his owner was confused when I asked if I could hold him. They smell so good. Puppy love......

Sabrina working on her motorcycling skills in our front yard.

Really missed my husband today. He had to work at the PD. We usually go every year to the parade and then the rodeo. The rodeo isn't my big thing but we always have a great time with the kids. Christian went with some friends. I'm sure he had a good time without his parents there....

Time Flies

I have the best son ever. You are such a wonderful young man Christian. Just 6 months from now and you'll be 18. Time flies. Sorry we were late for church, even though I waited in the car for you for 10 minutes. Oh well, it gave me a chance to catch up on my scrabble games anyway. You are becoming a marvelous young man.Thank you for all you do.

Here you are being a big helper to me as the oldest son in the family. You took such great care of your younger siblings. Look at you all here, 10 years ago. You're 7, Adriana 5, Sabrina 3, Curtis 2 and Howard only 10 months old. Summer was still at school and we were getting ready to go pick her up. Those were such BUSY days and I wouldn't change one moment.
I couldn't pass this up. Here you are 16 and 1/2 years ago for your first haircut. You were terrified. I almost left without her finishing because you couldn't stop crying. Broke my heart :(

Baseball Season is back

Opening day for baseball was last week. We are so excited. The boys are on the same team again this year. There were rumors that the league was trying not to let the brothers play on the same team. It's no wonder why, once you get the Kemp boys together they become a lethal combination for any team they play.

Curtis is an awesome pitcher. He makes it look so easy. Wow, you are impressive Curtis.

My little slugger Howard. He is the youngest by far on the team and can hold his own without any problem. Having his dad coach him from first base is an extra perk.

It is such a treat to watch Curtis and Howard playing baseball. They are both so talented. Curtis still has the nickname Velcro glove this year. He's just that good!!!

Pinewood Derby & Scouts

The pinewood derby is such a highly anticipated event by the boys. Well, maybe more for some of the fathers. By the looks of most of the cars it is apparent that they weren't constructed by young scouts. This is what Howard's face looks like right after a loss. True disappointment.

You can see from the look on Howard's face that his car wont be the winner!!!! Sorry buddy, next time.

What a perfect refreshment for the boys. So creative...

While the pinewood derby is going on the older scouts are being taught the most efficient way to win in an arm wrestling match. You can see the confidence in Christians smirk. He knows Brayden is going down ;)

Christian did win this arm wrestling match. Its a good thing because I video taped it. He may have wish I hadn't if the outcome was a bit different.

How did I become so blessed to have such remarkable boys. My heart is so full of love for each of them and I truly would be empty without their sweet spirits. Even in days of trial and them trying to see how far I can bend, I still would do it all over again....

Saying good-bye to Grandma Judy

How do you say good bye to one of the most amazing woman I have ever met. True beauty on the inside and out. Such love and devotion like I have never seen before. So much compassion. Even in days of pain Judy was always more concerned with others than herself. She was a kind person with genuine love for those that crossed her path. A lady, with great strength. Someone who wouldn't give up no matter what. She never forgot a birthday or a holiday or any other reason to make you feel special, loved and appreciated. There won't be a day that goes by that thoughts of you fill our minds and hearts...... Judy passed away to cancer. Someday we shall be together again.

Grandpa and Christian. It was wonderful to see Dan and Judy together and enjoy the love they shared for one another. Two people who definitely belonged together. My heart goes out to you Dan and I pray that you will find comfort.

Grandpa and Christian

We had the pleasure of being together on camp outs and snow trips and many other events.

Grandma and grandpa with Sabrina. Judy's smile was infectious. It would be hard not to return a smile to such a friendly and welcoming face.

We will miss you so much Judy and our hearts will remember the beautiful moments we were able to have our lives blessed by you. Thank you so much for all you have done for us and the memories that we will cherish forever.

Grandma Judy is just like one of the kids. The water was so cold but of course Judy wouldn't pass up a moment to bond with the kids. Lauryn and Christian on one of our camping trips.
I love you Judy and will miss you always.

Still young

My father plays like he is 25. The kids love it when my parents are here. My mom cooks up a storm and my dad will be outside with the boys on the basketball court or some other sport activity. There was Sabrina, Howard, Curtis and Eli from next door. Eli fell a few times and my dad was right there to get him back in the game.

Curtis you make basketball look easy.

Good save Eli.

Adriana & Tati

Adriana and her friend Tatiana were playing dress up. I figured this would be outgrown by now but they seem to enjoy it. I'm just happy to see the sweet innocence of it.

Sweeeeet......

Pretty in flowers..

They said they did this over and over to get the shot in the air. Hmmmm, I didn't think we were suppose to jump on the bed.
Two little monkeys jumping on the bed, one falls off and .............
