Dad and Mom

My parents came into town last Thursday. We had such a wonderful time together. They brought Makenna and Rylynn with them too.

They came from Utah. This is the beautiful winter view from the cabin my dad built. He is extremely talented.

My handsome father.

Utah cabin in the summer. My parents home is always immaculate. So clean and well groomed. They do all the gardening, there is never a weed in site. They are both such hard workers.

Looks good dad.

Me and my dad.

Yes, dad let Christian drive. Are you crazy dad?
You know this could be hazardous to your health.

Makenna, get IN the car.

Nice Rylynn

Rylynn and Kenna

The first thing my dad does when he finally relaxes at my house is go straight for my Architectural Digest magazines. Loves em'

We stayed up till 2:30 a.m. one night. Well, dad and mom didn't last that long but the rest of us did. Hiram took the little boys on a scout snow camp out. They got all wet and freezing and came home at 3:30 a.m.

I found some of these pictures from June 2009 when dad and mom were here last. Candi loves to sleep on her back. I'm not sure who's tap out shirt this is or why I'm wearing it. I must have put it on while cooking. Right....My mom does the cooking when she is here.

After church. Curtis couldn't wait to get in the pool..
Jennifer came down on this trip. Shes taking the picture.

Say cheese !!

Winding down from the day.

I found this one and thought I would put it in. Curtis, Bryan, Dad, Russell and mom hitting the slopes. Nothing slows them down!! Just missing Phillip. Where are you Phil ?

You guys look great........

Scrabble

Scrabble..... This is an application on my IPhone. It is so much fun. It really makes the time fly while I'm waiting at appointments or for the kids during their many activities.

Burger King

Friday's are Burger King day. Before school the kids have Burger King for breakfast. They can't wait for this day to come. I'm not sure why because they are not lacking in the fast food department. One perk is they are ready for school early on Friday's.

Be My Valentine

Valentine's Day was a little different this year. Normally we disappear for a night. This time we stayed home, it was still a wonderful evening. We made heart shaped cookies and had a really nice dinner. Of course there was the truth or dare game to be played ;)
KISS ME!!!!!!!!!!

Summer's Birthday

February 7th was Summer's birthday. Considering it was also the Super Bowl we had a birthday celebration / super bowl party. The decorations were also done in accordance with the day. We wanted the Colts to win so we used their colors as our theme. Blue and white. Of course, Curtis was the only one wanting the Saints to win, which they did. Smart kid.
We had a great day. Summer was spoiled with lots of goodies.

Summer was just told a very funny joke that may not be appropriate for here. She obviously found it extremely funny.

I'm lighting the candles while she poses.

Summer wanted meatloaf, whipped potatoes, baby carrots and french bread for her birthday dinner. She also requested peach cobbler for dessert but she insisted on making her own cake.

Summer and Inga made this really cute cake. Inga is Adriana's really sweet friend. They did a great jog. ( I think Inga did most the work. )

Boys will be Boys

The other day Christian had his friends over. The weather was cold, maybe 42 degrees out. This of course would make the pool extremely cold. So what a great idea, let's strip down and get in the water. The second they hit the water the realization of what they did hit them.

Zack swimming desperately to the side to get out.

Zach, Christian and Braden. Brett was thinking with a clear head and decided against this foolish behavior.
When I was standing here taking pictures of the boys I started thinking how this must look. They get out of the pool and they are in their underwear. Awkward.

Sleepover..

It was still light outside. Just a little catnap I guess.

Summer and her husband Jon live about 12 miles away. On their day off for some reason they seem to end up at our home. This has been a weekly ritual that I've come to look forward to. We usually have pizza and then it is followed with more unhealthiness....Jon's favorite, chocolate chip cookies.
